shannon + andrew
moab under canvas wedding
as if i needed another couple to have a mad crush on.
shannon and andrew’s elopement at moab under canvas was like a dream. their wedding was intimate and focused just on what was important to the two of them.
“We’ve never been about the huge wedding productions with guests you don’t know very well. When we got engaged in Monument Valley we knew right away we wanted to celebrate with a small intimate wedding/elopement on desert land.”
every tiny detail was thought out and in step with their incredible style. also, i’m convinced that rue de seine dresses are literally MADE for the desert. their bohemian vibe, unique details, and flattering designs make for a dream of a dress. andrew is an amazing musician, so after their first look at their tent we wandered the grounds of under canvas as he serenaded his soon-to-be bride with one of his taylor guitars. not only that, but during their first look shannon gifted him a custom guitar pick with their wedding date on it. can you see why i was freaking out within 20 minutes of hanging with these two?!
after champagne and lots of laughter on the steps, we headed down the road for a few more photos at a sneaky little spot on the way to their ceremony site. i just loved how tiny they looked up against those massive red walls. if you end up asking me to take your photograph, there’s a 99.99% chance i’m going to ask you to go stand on a rock if i see one. i don’t care how weird it sounds, i like rocks, and i especially like long beautiful dresses and couples in love standing proud on top of rocks. 🙂 call me crazy. these two were absolutely up for climbing around wherever we went, even in shannon’s super cute white dolce vita ankle boots.
after their ceremony their friends and family shared some ridiculously tasty vegan indian food from a local food truck, moab kitchen. there were plenty of cold beers to go around, and cupcakes to finish. we snapped a few last photos as the sun dipped below the canyon, and i couldn’t have felt luckier to have been able to spend their wedding day with them.
their words of advice:
“Keep it simple and small. The more intimate the better! In the end, it is only about what you both want to do.”
