a guide to moab weddings
in the 11 years that i’ve lived in moab, this town has gone from a small but growing outdoorsy town to a full-blown tourist town with half a dozen new hotels going up each and every season. now, don’t get me wrong, i LOVE it here! i wouldn’t still live here if i didn’t. this place is home, this desert feeds my soul, and i can’t really imagine living anywhere else. BUT. it’s important to recognize that with the massive increase in visitors each year, planning a wedding can be tricky, especially from afar. that’s where i can help.
planning a moab wedding
included in all of my wedding packages are endless support in planning your moab wedding. i have a list of vendors i’ve been working with for years, from florists to hair & makeup artists to caterers and rental companies, that i can share with you to help make your wedding planning as smooth as possible. it can be such a challenge to plan a wedding in moab when you haven’t met any of the local vendors, i get it, and i’m more than happy to help. being a moab wedding photographer is my full-time job, it’s not just something that i do on the side, and i really enjoy it! from the shooting to the editing to the hanging with couples in gorgeous places and getting to capture your unique story.
Moab wedding permits
a lot of the land surrounding moab is public land, managed by the bureau of land management (BLM). although it may seem like it’s wide open and there are no rules, you do need a permit to get married on BLM land. it’s very important to contact the moab BLM field office to learn about the most current rules and regulations. this place is so fragile but it can be enjoyed by all of us for years to come if we just take a few precautions to make sure our impact is as limited as possible.
