ricky + eileen / dead horse point proposal

July 31, 2017

where do i even begin? i mean, i feel like the luckiest person on earth when i get to witness a couple get engaged! okay, i guess i’ll start at the beginning of this dead horse point proposal story…

ricky e-mailed me about 2 months before he and eileen were planning on heading out west from nyc for an extended road trip. he asked if i’d be willing to photograph his proposal on the 4th of july at dead horse point, to which i immediately said YES! i love that park. it’s quieter than the others nearby and has spectacular views pretty much no matter where you go. i also loved that in his initial e-mail he took the time to tell me a little of their story. one of the biggest reasons why i love photography so much is because of the way a string of photographs, of still images, can tell a story. so when an individual or couple immediately starts telling me the why behind asking me to take their portraits, i’m in. 🙂

plus, i don’t think we could’ve asked for a better sunset to go with his proposal! congratulations ricky + eileen on your next adventure together!
