dead horse point motorcycle engagements
when courtney first e-mailed me, she mentioned how she wasn't exactly sure of the date she and her fiance, jesse, would be in moab because they were going to be touring colorado and utah on a motorcycle. i was, of course, immediately intrigued, and also slightly envious of their trip. we nailed down some dates and decided to do a 2 hour engagement session, which is the best, because we were able to visit two different locations and get a really wide variety of shots.
i've mentioned this before, but you just never know who you're going to meet in this business, you don't know what story belongs to the person on the other end of the screen sending you an e-mail. i knew almost nothing about these two before we met, but after the 2+ hours we were able to spend together, i walked away both admiring and respecting the two of them. courtney was in the process of starting a soap company (check it out! dirty girl soap co.) and jesse founded the imagine foundation, a non-profit whose goal is to end child slavery (check out the site here, and his ted talk!). needless to say, these two are a power couple. they practice what they preach, and definitely seem to be living life to the fullest. also, they have a ridiculously awesome sense of humor. even though this was months ago, i can remember jesse making me laugh so hard my cheeks hurt by the time the sun went down. and the best part of it all is that i get to shoot their wedding next summer in ohio! i cannot wait for that celebration, and to get to laugh with these two again.
lots of love to you both.
